Josh Lingenfelter

Josh Lingenfelter is the founder and owner of TCG Emporium and writes every guide, set note and product description on it. He is a UK collector and also owns CardTrack and UltraBall, two Pokémon card data and collection sites; CardTrack supplies the dated figures that appear on these pages. He reads the email address at the bottom of every page.

What he collects

English Pokémon cards. Sealed product from Base Set to the current Mega Evolution sets, raw singles, and graded slabs from PSA, CGC and the other graders. The guides lean towards sealed product and the newer sets because that is where the questions come from; the condition and authenticity standards come from handling singles and slabs.

How we describe a card

Raw singles are described to the five words on our condition standard page, each with a written test, and nothing is called mint. Sealed product and slabs are checked the way the authenticity page sets out. Those two pages are written before the first sale so they cannot be bent around stock later.

How we write

Every guide names its sources with the date each was checked, carries the date it was published and the date it was last updated, and says when it is next due a review. Figures come from the dated feeds described on the editorial standards page and are labelled with their source and date wherever they appear. We do not publish opinions about what to buy as if they were facts, and we do not write about products we have not looked into.
